Meet The Team

Executive Director:
Merry Hadden
Merry founded the School in 1983. She holds AMI diplomas for ages 0-3 and 3-6. She received a B.A. in Psychology and minored in Business at St. Leo College. She is a Certified Infant Massage Instructor and Certified Childbirth Instructor. Merry is a AMI Assistance to Infancy Consultant and AMI 0-3 Trainer.

Head of School:
Mia Crabill
Mia received her AMI Primary diploma from the Montessori Training Institute of North Texas. She holds a certificate with the Educateur sans Frontieres (Educators without Borders) Assembly in South Africa and an AMI Montessori Core Principals certificate from Dallas, TX. She graduated from AIU in Los Angeles, California with a BA in Fine Arts. She is in the final stages of completing her Master of Early Childhood Education from the University of Hartford, CT.

Office Assistant:
Brenda Thomas
Brenda is a native of Mexico and a mother of two. You can contact Brenna with general questions or questions regarding billing.

Office Assistant:
Ms Marsha
Ms Marsha is returning to assist in the office on Mondays and Tuesdays. You can contact Marsha with questions on your child’s records or regarding scholarships.

Facilities Manager:
Mike Grady
Born and raised in Miami, Mike completed his BA in Archaeology at Florida Atlantic University. After seven years in that field, he tried his hand at blueberry farming. Additionally, Mike is an avid woodworking hobbyist.

NIDO Directress:
Jessie Uvalle
Jessie graduated from the AMI Assistants to Infancy Training Course at the Montessori Training Center of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. She enjoys a healthy lifestyle and is passionate about her job.

NIDO Assistant:
Kaci Schonauer
Kaci is a Lake County native. She has experience working in a church nursery, and especially enjoys the youngest children. Her hobbies include singing, art, dancing and interior design.

NEST 1 Directress:
Kia Larkin
Kia holds an AMI Montessori 0-3 Diploma from the Montessori Training Center of British Columbia in Vancouver, Canada. She completed her BA in Psychology with a concentration in Child Development from University of South Florida. She is a certified Infant Massage instructor.

NEST 1 Assistant:
Nicole Shearer
Nicole received her BA in English Literature from USF and has completed Coursework towards her Master’s in Folklore and Popular Culture at the University of Oregon. She has also taken online courses on the Montessori Philosophy. She is a mom of 2 and loves to read, sing, dance, and sew.

NEST 2 Directress:
Christie Duryea
ChrisJe completed her AMI Assistants to Infancy Certification at the Montessori Institute of Atlanta after 10 years as a Pastry Chef. She holds a Baking and Pastry Arts degree from Johnson and Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island.

NEST 2 Assistant:
Maria Paz Merino
Maria is originally from Leon, Spain. She holds a BA in Mechanical Draftsmanship. She enjoys reading and traveling.

Children’s House 1 Directress:
Deirdre Jordan
Deirdre holds a BS in Administration of Early Childhood Programs from Empire State in NY. She received her AMI Primary training at Sion Hill Montessori College in Dublin, Ireland.

Children’s House 1 Assistant:
Kaili Woodward
Kaili grew up in Naples, Florida where she lived for fifteen years, unJl she relocated to Mount Dora with her family. In high school she began volunteering at W.T Bland Public Library, where she discovered her love for working with children and education. She is excited about her new role as Assistant in Children’s House 1 and looks forward to meeting and engaging with all the wonderful children and their families. Kaili enjoys spending time with her dogs, hiking and kayaking.

Children’s House 2 Directress:
Mikkale Seabaugh-Alford
Mikie earned a BS in Child Development from Southeast Missouri State University with a minor in Family Studies. She graduated with an AMI Primary Diploma from the Montessori Training Center of St. Louis.

Children’s House 2 Assistant:
Lexi Hughes
Lexi will be assisting Mikie in Children's House 2. She previously headed up our Primary Aftercare program here at Montessori at Roseborough. She has over 5 years of experience working with children. Aside from being in the classroom, Lexi enjoys painting and photography.

Children’s House 3 Directress::
Monica Reno
Monica is a graduate of the 2008 AMI Primary Training Course at the Montessori Training Center of St. Louis in St. Louis, Missouri. She earned her B.S. in Communications at the Universidad Autonoma del Estado de Mexico in Toluca, Mexico.

Children’s House 3 Assistant:
Svenja Altevogt
Svenja will be assisting in Children’s House 3. Previously she worked in our Nido, and many children will know her from Summer Camp. She recently moved here from Germany and will be speaking German to the children. She received training in Early Childhood Education as well as Business Administration. She will be starting her AMI Primary training in October. In her spare time, she enjoys art and crafting.

Elementary 1 Directress:
Deborah Clarke
Deborah holds a Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida and a Master's in Education from Loyola University Maryland. Deborah holds an AMI Elementary Montessori diploma. She loves the beach, springs, botanical gardens, bike riding, reading, and spending time with friends and family.

Elementary 1 Assistant:
Doug Hays
Doug is an accomplished artist who specializes in sculpture and blacksmithing. You may recognize some of his artwork on our very own campus as he designed and fabricated the ornate gate leading to the “Children’s Garden”. Doug earned a BA in Elementary Education from UCF and is a hobbyist fisherman.

Elementary 2 Directress:
Sommer Lewis
Sommer is a graduate of the AMI Assistants to Infancy training course at the Montessori Institute in Denver, Colorado. She completed her AMI Elementary training in Hartford, CT and holds a BA in Human Development and Family Studies. She is a Certified Family Life Educator (CFLE) from the National Council on Family Relations.

Elementary 2 Assistant:
Brenna Kluesener
Brenna is currently pursuing her degree in Elementary Education. In addition to being an avid gardener, she plays several instruments and loves reading.

Adolescent Program Directress:
Kathleen Mizuk
Kathleen holds a B.A in Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Sciences from the University of California Berkeley. She completed her Master of Education in Montessori Integrative Learning. In 2004 she received her first Montessori training for children ages 3-6 and worked with children in both Ecuador and Mexico. In 2010 Kathleen received her Montessori AMI Elementary diploma from Dallas, TX. She has participated in several Montessori Adolescent workshops and completed her AMI Adolescent Program certification this summer.

Aftercare Primary:
Cindy Buchner
Cindy is a Florida native and resides in Eustis. She is a certified AMS Montessori 3-6 teacher and has previously worked as a Primary guide. She enjoys playing the guitar, gardening, nature, art, cooking/baking and yoga.

Aftercare Primary:
Shyla-Kate Nicholls
Shyla-Kate Nicholls returns for this upcoming school year as an Assistant in After care. She has assisted in our Summer Camp and enjoys working with children. She is currently pursuing her degree in education. In addition, she enjoys reading, art and crafting.

Elementary & AP Aftercare:
Sarah Kaufman
Sarah will be joining the Elementary Aftercare program. She is studying Elementary Education at Seminole State College. Sarah is from Lake Mary, FL and resides here in Downtown Mount Dora with her 3-year-old son, Hayden, fiancé, Chris, two cats, and a dog. Sarah’s hobbies include painting, gardening, cooking, and fitness.
